Cheers to 2019!

When reflecting over 2019 one word comes to mind – whirlwind. We have had more events over the past year than ever before. We have helped more people relax with our Wine and Unwind series. Also, we have had a great time with our signature pairings this year by pairing our wines not just with chocolate, candy, and cookies but adding cake and tarts too!

This year we brought back our chocolate strawberry wine, Bo After Hours. It was a wine that had been originally made exclusively for our Gold Leaf members and has been repeatedly requested ever since.

We passed a few milestones in 2019. One being our 10,000th Facebook follower and another being our 500th Gold Leaf member! We grew our team by welcoming Christi as our new Tasting Room Manager and Pam moving on to become our Chief Brand Ambassador.

While 2018 had record rain, 2019 was a much, much dryer year which made for our largest grape harvest ever! We have wine in every possible spot we have plus we gave 2000 lbs. of grapes to the Maryland Food Bank. Not to mention we had Twin Oaks Farms make some of our Chambourcin grapes into our “Cham Jam” and it has turned out fantastic!

Personally, for us as a family, it was a big year as our son Stephen graduated high school and through us for a loop by joining the Army Reserves. I, as a mom, thought I was prepared to have him go to away to college but I was not prepared for him to go to boot camp! I realize that with him joining the Army Reserves I have it much easier than other moms who’s kids join active duty military. I have the best-case scenario as he is already back from his training and will be starting college at the University of Pittsburgh in January. Through this experience, I have gained a mere glimpse of what military families go through. It has given me a greater appreciation for all those that serve in the military and their families. Thank goodness for the internet and a great group of moms/spouses from my chat group that helped me to make it and stay sane!

We would like to wish everyone a very happy and safe holiday season!  We look forward to our 2020 and celebrating our 10th Anniversary!
