Delicious Duos

Wine is often seen as intimidating or as a subject that has a lot of rules. We have always strived to make wine more approachable and focus on drinking wine you like, not necessarily what someone else decides you should like. Many people feel like you should not mix two wines together. However, in reality the mixing of two wines is really no different than what winemakers do when creating blended wines.

Over time, we have come up with a few of these combos as our favorites. We have recently made these a little more official by creating packages and naming them our “Delicious Duos.” These are pairs of wine that have unofficially been combined to make a new cocktail. Our oldest pairing is our Joe’s Cool Red and Joe’s Cool White. It essentially makes a Joe’s Cool Pink. Since these two wines are our “Tractor wines” Tammy cleverly coined it “The Combine”! The next pair was our Laura’s Lemonade and Bo Berry Strawberry that make great Strawberry Lemonade wine. It makes any day feel like summertime! We call it Strawberry Blonde. Lastly, we have our newest one that we happened upon by accident. Sometimes when bottling there may be a little cross over when changing over from one wine to another. When we changed from bottling Joe’s Cool Red to Salem Spiced Apple we had about two cases that came out pink. We didn’t think much of it. We gave some to our Layton’s Chance team members to take home. Turns out they came back and said their friends and family loved it. Danielle came up the great name of “Candied Apple”. We hope that these packages are one more way to have fun when drinking wine.
