Jen Layton Makes French Dip Subs on Delmarvalife!


French Dip Sandwich

Great Recipe for cold days!!

  • 1 Beef rump roast
  • 2 t. Kosher salt, 1/2 t. pepper
  • 2 t. Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup red wine (recommended: Layton’s Chance Farm Red)
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 15 oz Beef broth
  • Dried onion soup mix
  • 2 loaves French bread 

Brown the meat in a large roasting pan with oil, salt and pepper.  Add browned meat to a slow cooker.  Pour wine into used meat pan and reduce for 2 min. Add all ingredients to slow cooker and cook on low for 5 hours.
