VINEYARD & FARM TOURS
Want to learn more about the winery and farm? Or, just want to spend some time looking around our facility? Then join us for a free tour offered Saturday and Sunday at 1pm and 3pm. Reservations required Monday – Friday ! (Groups of 10 or more, please call ahead)
*During event times, tours are subject to cancellation.
Tours are walking tours of the vineyard & winery. Our tours are casual and led by trained winery staff. While the time is around 30 minutes for each tour, questions are encouraged and can be slightly shorter, or longer, depending on the tour guests and questions that come up! Those who prefer not to walk can join the tour in the production facility in lieu of walking through the vineyard.
We welcome you to our modern production area where you can learn about different winemaking techniques. Like us on Facebook to see what we’re working on. We often invite guests to join us for certain parts of the process- from picking grapes to bottling wine!
Have you ever wondered what farming looks like in Maryland today? The Laytons have operated Lazy Day Farms for more than 50 years! Farming a variety of crops- from tomatoes to cattle to today’s grains- soybeans, corn, and wheat. In 2011, the Layton family was inducted in to the Maryland Agriculture Hall of Fame. We invite you to take a walk around the farm with Joseph H. Layton, Jr., a Hall of Fame farmer with over 40 years of farming experience.
Farm tours are scheduled at 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays, or by appointment (minimum 5 people). School groups are welcome on weekdays by reservation.
The cost is $10 per person, and includes a wine tasting and a souvenir Layton’s Chance wine glass.
